MINUTES OF MEETING OF
THE CARMEL CHAPTER OF FBLA

The yearly planning meeting of the Carmel Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America was held at the Carmel High School on Monday, June 21, 1999. The meeting was called to order at 7:30am by President Nao Valentino; Recording Secretary Phil Gold, was present.

Mr. Brooks gave an introductory speech about how the planning meeting works. The year's activities are set up to adhere to the chapter goals and to fit into the structure of the Chapter of the Year competitive event guidelines.

President, Nao Valentino, addressed the issue of officer uniforms.

Secretary, Phil Gold motioned that next year's uniforms should be the same as the previous year, but worn only for presentations and general meetings. The motion was adopted.

Nao Valentino informed the group that the school library plans on throwing out old books.

Phil Gold motioned to refer the idea of donating the books to a charity to a committee of one to be appointed by the chair. The motion was adopted. The chair appointed Christine Lazzari to the committee.

The officer team began to structure the upcoming year's activities. The team agreed to push for an increase in membership by 5 to 77 members.

Phil Gold motioned to have the Historian take pictures in accordance with the official FBLA equipment guidelines after the adjournment of the meeting in order to fulfill the equipment section of the Chapter of the Year guidelines. The motion as adopted.

General Chapter meetings were scheduled for September 15, 1999, September 23, 1999, October 5th, 1999, and December 1st, 1999. A date for the November general meeting is to be determined later in the year in order to comply with the schedule of a speaker.

The team decided that for the most part, the chapter activities would be partitioned in accordance with job title. For example, the treasurer would be in charge of fundraising.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:07pm
