CHS FBLA Minutes

MINUTES OF MEETING OF
THE CARMEL CHAPTER OF FBLA

The regular meeting of the officers of the Carmel Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America was held at the Carmel High School on Wednesday, October 13, 1999. The meeting was called to order at 2:03pm by President Nao Valentino; Recording Secretary Phil Gold, was present.

The secretary read the officer meeting minutes from September 29, 1999. The minutes were adopted as read by unanimous consent.

President, Nao Valentino presented the issue of choosing outstanding members for awards from the months of September and October.

Christine Lazzari motioned to have a separate �New Member of the Month� award and �Member of the Month� award. The motion was adopted.

Nao Valentino asked the officer team if they wished to participate in the District III vollyball fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity. She expressed that although Habitat for Humanity is a worthy charity, it is not FBLA related such as the state and national charities and perhaps it would be better not to participate in something that would not be a contribution to the unified cause of FBLA.

Joe Remy motioned to remove the Carmel Chapter�s involvement from the November 7th District III Vollyball-a-thon. The motion was adopted.

Christine Lazzari brought up the issue of our chapter�s poor public relations with the rest of the school clubs and faculty. The question was brought before the team as to how to remedy this situation.

Joe Remy motioned to create a public relations committee. The motion was adopted. The President will select the committee chair at a later time.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:12pm
