MINUTES OF MEETING OF
THE CARMEL CHAPTER OF FBLA
A general meeting of the 1999-2000 members of the Carmel Chapter of the Future
Business Leaders of America was held at the Carmel High School on Wednesday
November 3, 1999. The meeting was called to order at 2:05p.m. by President Nao
Valentino. Recording Secretary Phil Gold was present.
Attendance is listed below.
Vice President of Community Service, Christine Lazzari motioned to table the reading of
the minutes and the treasurer�s report. The motion was adopted.
Chris Dieck read the treasurer�s report to the membership.
Mr. Brooks made a brief announcement to the members that the candy drive has now
officially ended, and members with candy money outstanding should turn it in to him as
soon as possible.
Nao Valentino thanked the members for all of their hard work helping out at
parent/teacher conferences, and the PARC telethon.
Christina Fox and April Moore made a presentation to the membership on the Partnership
with Business Project. This year�s project includes the involvement in a national stock
market simulation program to learn more about the stock exchange.
Nao Valentino announced the members of the month and the new members of the month.
Andrea Ceffarelli, a representative from Hudson Valley Blood Services spoke the
membership about the upcoming blood drive. She expressed the urgent need for blood
and dispelled common myths about blood donation.
Chris Dieck announced that the FBLA dance would be held on Friday, November 5, 1999
from 7:00pm � 10:00pm. Any members interested in helping with the setup and cleanup
should see him after the meeting.
Joe Remy announced that he would need members to assist him in a volunteer activity
with Mrs. Braja at a silent auction event on Saturday, November 20, 1999. Members
interested in helping with this event should see him after the meeting.
Nao Valentino announced that New York State FBLA is starting a program called �Pen
Pals across New York State�. Anyone interested in getting a FBLA pen pal from another
part of the state should see her after the meeting.
Joe Remy announced that members are required to attend one of the two Parliamentary
Procedures workshops to be held on Wednesday, November 17, 1999 and Tuesday,
November 23, 1999.
Joe Remy also asked members to help clean Vink Drive on Friday, November 19, 1999.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:40pm.
