The FBLA Star

And your 2000-2001 President is. . . Chris Dieck
Hey Carmel FBLA! I am proud to be writing to you as your newly elected President and State Secretary! This past year has been one of the greatest for Carmel FBLA and also one of the most memorable for me, and hopefully, for you also!
I want to begin by congratulating all those who won an event at Rochester, or a recent election here in Carmel. Both are very hard to do and you should be proud of yourselves. In addition, I would also like to commend all members of Carmel FBLA for their outstanding work over the course of this year. Every member of this great chapter should be exalted by their efforts.
With Rochester behind us, we must now look to the future and be ready for what it beholds. To all those who will be attending the National Leadership Conference in Long Beach, California, good luck in your respected competitions. I know that the whole chapter is behind you all and wished you the best.
As for next year, well, to say the least, it will be very exciting and fun for all of us. I urge everyone to try to become more involved members so that I can congratulate you in addition to the many others who will win trophies at Rochester next year! Officer Installation New Member Induction Ceremony
Each year, after electing the new officer team, the chapter holds an Induction and Installation Ceremony. At this semi-formal event, the new members recite the FBLA Pledge and Creed, and are officially inducted into the club. The new officers new officers are installed through a routine ceremony, during which each officer lights a designated candle that symbolizes his position. These candles will be lit by outgoing President, Nao Valentino. The newly elected officers then agree to carry out the duties of his office.
This is an enjoyable event for both FBLA members and their families to attend. The ceremony will be held in Casey Hall on Tuesday, May 23rd at 7:00pm. All inductees should be dressed appropriately in either proper business attire or semi-formal attire. This is a mandatory meeting for all new members. All other members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Refreshments and desserts will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony. This is also a great opportunity to view this years 4th place Chapter of the Year Scrapbook and various award winning reports. We look forward to seeing all of you there!

June 10th Car Wash
The first official activity of the 2000-2001 FBLA year will be the annual June Car wash. In the past this has been a very enjoyable event as well as an opportunity to raise funds for the chapter. It also serves as a great chance to mingle with your fellow chapter members and members of the George Fischer FBLA chapter.
At this fundraiser we usually surpass our goal of earning $500 for the club. This year, with your help, we hope to continue this tradition.
The car wash will be held on Saturday June 10th, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the circle in front of Carmel High School. Bring towels and be prepared to have a great time enjoying the spring weather and helping your chapter of FBLA!
